Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the direct sale of TALX Corporation services to eCommerce Government and Social Service prospects.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and develops new business opportunities and calls on key decision makers of prospective clients. 
  • Develops sales strategies and effectively manages assigned territory to maximize revenue potential.
  • Makes follow-up calls and conducts research to qualify sales leads.
  • Builds and maintains prospective customer relationships.
  • Enters prospect data and other sales data into database.
  • Works with Client Relationship Management Team to maximize client revenue potential.
  • Works with Business Development Representative to pre-qualify leads.
  • Represents TALX at national and regional trade shows and user meetings.
 
Requirements

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business
  • 3-5 years successful service-based solution selling in a business-to-business environment dealing with senior management

 

Minimum Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Client Service Oriented
  • Strong problem solving and market research skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sales experience in a business-to-government environment
  • Knowledge of SalesLogix, ACT! or similar prospect management database

 

Computer Skills Required:

  • Proficient with Windows based and Microsoft applications

 

Physical Requirements or Environmental Factors:

  • 30% to 40% travel required
