Position Summary:

Summary:

The Incentive Compensation Analyst is responsible for the monthly and quarterly calculating and tracking of all commissions and sales incentives for the sales and service team members, as well as maintaining all supporting schedules and providing additional reporting using sales information as necessary.  This position also helps generate incentive plan group and individual documents and calculators to support the provisions of the plans, in addition to management reporting on the commissions and incentives paid.

  • Assists with the development of the incentive plans for sales and service personnel; maintains plans and creates calculation tool for use by sales and service personnel.
  • Understands commission and sales bonus components of incentive plans and responds to questions regarding application of these plans.
  • Receives sales and renewal contracts for TALX services and records details for commission purposes.
  • Receives billing extract and extracts revenue details and records for commission purposes.
  • Analyzes sales data for trends; advises management and individuals of issues and responds to questions regarding sales data and commission and sales bonus calculations and statements.
  • Prepares all commission and sales bonus calculations. Submits this data to payroll department for payment and issues statements to managers and commissioned employees.
  • Compiles and submits reports of contracts for revenue and new business recognition; responds to questions from cost center managers and finance analysts regarding actual results and variances to budget.
  • Analyzes monthly detail and compiles into quarterly and annual reporting for use in incentive calculations.  
  • Teams with the Finance team and Sales Operations groups to track and monitor revenue received from contracts to determine commission over- and underpayments; present finding to reconciliation committee and track reconciliation activities as approved through the reconciliation process.
  • Prepares reports and modeling for the review of plan effectiveness for compensation analysis and for the sales organization.

Requirements
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to understand the products and contracts for all TALX services. The individual must also have strong verbal and written communication skills to work with sales and service personnel and management up to the president.
  • Be able to establish rapport and trust with sales and service personnel.
  • In addition, good organizational skills and attention to detail are required as well as strong Excel skills, including the use of analytical tools. Individual will also have the flexibility to adapt to evolving plan structures.
  • Experience in preparing and administering commission and bonus plans, or other relevant experience with confidential information.
  • Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Must have a strong understanding of Excel spreadsheet applications, and familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Work as an effective, contributing member of the Human Resources, Finance and Sales Operations teams.
  • Ability to understand processes and systems to determine best use of alternative tools will be helpful.
  • Experience with reducing sales incentive management expenses by streamlining administrative processes and providing continuous visibility to senior management about sales performance and related incentive payments.
  • Experience implementing or utilizing sales incentive management software programs desired
